Girls Pull Out Win vs. Monte Vista,
Boys Fall Short

In a close battle all the way to the end, the Cal High girls team narrowly beat Monte Vista 69-67.  It was the first time since 2004 that the girls team had beaten the Mustangs.  Leading the team with winning efforts were Colleen Lillig (1600 & 3200), Chelsey Kamson (100HH, 200), Julianna Levy (300IH), Rachel Ehsan (LJ), Rachel Gai (100), Jenna Langseth (PV) and the 4x100 relay team of Rachel Gai, Chelsey Kamson, Cayla Rodriguez & Rachel Ehsan.

On the boys side, the depth of the Monte Vista sprinters proved too much for the Grizzlies to handle as the Mustangs came out on top 87-49.  Highlighting the effort for Cal were Dmitry Kislyuk with wins in the 1600, 800 & 3200, Justin Miller with another school record vault going 15' 6" as well as winning the 110HH and Michael Chen who won the 300IH.

The team athletes of week were Colleen Lillig for her fine distance wins and Mike Galletly who came in 2nd in both the shot put and the discus.
